He shares his story from diagnosis to recovery as well as how he is educating the youth of today on mental illness to help fight the stigma of mental illness. Hakeem's Bio: Hakeem Rahim, Ed.M, M.A. graduated with a BA in psychology from Harvard University, and dual masters from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. In 2012, Hakeem began speaking openly about his 14 year journey with bipolar disorder. Since then he has testified in front of Congress, been featured in USA Today and has shared his journey with over 5,900 college, high school and middle school students. Hakeem is a certified National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) In Our Own Voice speaker, the NAMI Queens/Nassau Let’s Talk Mental Illness TM presenter, and a member of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance’s national board. Veteran David Ervin tells us how he has found POST TRAUMATIC GROWTH after learning how to manage his personal battle with the struggles come from PTSD.
